What is the Morning Mile?

The Morning Mile is a nationwide walking/running program that has been implemented all over the country as a way for kids to start their day with outdoor exercise and fun with friends.

What time does it start?

Morning Mile starts at 7:30 am every day and lasts 20 minutes

Who can attend?

Students from Grade 1 through 5 are welcome to participate. PFC also hosts special events where parents can join their children throughout the year. Announcements will be posted on ParentSquare and PFC Facebook page

Why do kids love the Morning Mile?

Necklace charms are used as an incentive for every 5 miles (30 laps) they complete and kids love collecting them. Each morning, parent volunteers give out 1 straw per lap and at the end of the 20 minutes, all the straws are tallied. Charms are given out in the classrooms once a week after your child has earned 30 straws.  30 straws/laps = 1 charm

Another perk of participating in this program is skipping out on traffic for drop-off, that in itself is a reason to participate!
